What sausages are people giving their kiddies? Currently looking for a tasty sausage to feed my toddler. Any suggestions?

my DD doesn't like the skin on sausages so I buy skinless ones. IMO are very nice with mash veg and gravy.Grin

I just buy pork sausages and usually bung them in the slow cooker as a casserole or whatnot. for eating on their own, my dd loves the willie winkies, which are probably not the healthiest but taste yummy Grin

I think you should give her what pu would eat yourself. For us it's the black farmer ones they are lovely.

We all love cumberland, sometimes we do them with red onion gravy served with mashed potatoes. You could also try Frankfurters either on their own or as part of pasta - slice them up along with some chopped/tinned tomatoes along with some other veg - quick stir with cooked pasta with a drizzle of olive oil and you fav spices/seasoning.

I second the Black Farmer ones, delicious. Or Debbie & Andrews they are 97% meat!

notnagging · 26/02/2013 05:16

As long as they are over 70% meat I buy what ever is on offer but that excludes most if the well known brands.

Thanks all, that's really helpful. I will give the black farmer ones a go and Debbie and Andrews, I've seen them in the supermarket. As well as taste a lower salt content would be ideal, not sure this exists for sausages though?

I don't think the salt is particularly lower but good little sausage company are quite plain tasting so safe bet for lirtle ones, and in our house we are limited to gluten free. However gf sausages are usually by default good quality ime and include black farmer and Debbie and Andrew's. My personsl favourite are waitrose gluten free ones.
