beef stew in slow cooker

Anyone got a yummy receipe for me,planning to do a beef stew in the slow cooker for Sunday lunch,maybe with dumplings....

Brow the beef on the frying pan first,add some onion,bayleaf,peppercorns and a slosh of red wine.

Chop the meat into chunks if it isn't already.

put the kettle on to boil.

Finley chop an onion, put in sc.
Chop one carrot per person, put in sc.
add seasoning and I use an oxo cube, put in the sc.

roll the meat in plain flour so it is lightly coated, put it in the sc.

Add boiling water to just cover the meat. add a dash of wine if you want.

30 mins before serving make and add the dumplings.

Beer is great, and redcurrant or cranberry jelly also fab.
