...a Mum and a baby/children come round for a playdate?

Just wondering, don't want to appear lazy and don't want to have a heap of hassle either?

normally just coffee and cake
but if staying for lunch I get some decent bread and picky bits - cheeses, cold cuts, coleslaw, scotch eggs. picnic food really.

Just coffee and biscuits! Sometimes cake, if we've been baking.

Round here it's pizza (usually Pizza Express pizza) and salad/baby tomatoes, carrot sticks/cucumber. Quick and easy. Other alternatives...pasta, and when the children are older chicken tacos with grated cheese and chopped tomatoes/salsa. Most children seem to like all of the above. My personal disasters have included casserole (treated with great suspicion) and stir fry (what IS this?).

Coffee and biscuits will do the trick! :)
