...since the 'Horsemeat Debacle'? Just that really. I've always been careful and conscious of the family diet and had been moving family to more Vegetarian meals, several a week.....and now feel some concern about really knowing what I'm making for them. Wondered how others feel??

I haven't, as the scandal hasn't involved aything that would affect me, and I already buy the best I can, which sadly never includes 'beef' as it's so expensive. but there have been an unusual amount of threads querying where to buy best, how to cook from scratch and leaning toward less reliance on supermarkets. Which can only be a good thingSmile

Yes. we've had more vegetarian and fish dishes, and I bought quorn for the first time in ages.

We didn't ever eat processed meals anyway, but it made us realise how much meat we ate.

We had posh butchers burgers not supermarket ones, as DD2 doesn't want to eat horse.

Changing much else is difficult as the same DD won't eat fish or many veg.

Im guessing that, where possible, we may think twice about shopping routines...could be excellent news for little shops! x

No, the only processed meat we bought was scan meatballs and I still buy them. No idea if they had horse in or not, but the kids like them and they're a quick cheap meal, albeit a one we don't have often. Nice to have a quick option.

I've been eyeing the supply of minced beef in my freezer with some suspicion over the past week, I have to say. I keep coming up with good reasons why we should have chicken or something vegetable based. Probably no bad thing - better for all of us.

I tracked down a local beef supplier which is similar price to stNdRd supermarket and tastes fab. And am getting a veg / meat box delivered from riverford.
I doubt I would have bought any of the horse products but its made me try to avoid processed meat more, which can only be a good thing!
