10 people coming, please give some lunch ideas!

I am used to just up to 6 people for sit down dinner, or BBQ outside. I am going to have 10adults and 3 children for lunch, we don't have space for everyone to sit together at the table some was thinking of laying the table with various lunch snacks type bits for people to pick and choose? What do you think?

Any ideas for some good recipes that I can use? Thank you thank you thank you!

Yeah good idea just do salads and cold meats and posh breads, some cheeses and pate and chutney.
Maybe a big pot of chilli or curry and naan bread or pitta breads?

Thanks purple. I have 4 adults that dont eat meat (eay fish though) and one of the kids is fussy. I like the idea of cold meats, cheese and nice bread, re the curry: isnt it easier to eat that at a table?
I feel. Need to prepare something for the non meat eaters, any ideas?

Some nice quiches. Veggy ones. Stilton n brocolli, cheese n Tom?

Cook a ham yourself - much cheaper and looks great. I do a nice warm pasta salad (could be cold, or could just nuke in microwave to warm up) with orzo, mozzarella balls, cherry toms, basil leaves and pesto. Basically pesto n pasta but always looks naice due to the orzo (waitrose have it, just rice shaped pasta).

Jamie Oliver's roasted veggy couscous is always lovely too.

Delia does a nice salmon dish too. Poached salmon steaks (although I guess you could do a side of salmon). Have it room temp. With a sauce on side of I think it's creme fraiche n avocado. Would be good for the adults and all made in advance.

Although actually I sometimes find doing n laying out all little bits if stuff more faff n more prep than just doing something simple. I've done just a couple of big lasagnes (one meat, one veg for you). Done day before, just bung in with garlic bread n have big green salad on side. Depends on how fussy the one child - mine can be fussy but like basically mixed up spag Bol n will nosh garlic bread very happily!

I was going to suggest a roast chicken and ham - gordon ramsay has a super recipe just google it, crusty sour dough, ottolenghi salads x 3 and can all be done in advance and you look like a goddess. even my 20 month old loves a good ottolenghi sweet potato salad!

Last time we had a similar do we did a ham, slimming world potato salad, Greek salad, a few cheese, olives some nice bread a few bits that our DC like. Was yum.

My sister is veggie and I think we put on a couple of quiches but we did have more people. The salmon sounds good

I would do quiches, cold meats,maybe salmon, cheeses, breads, salads as a help-yourself buffet. Then two or three cold desserts (I recently made a lovely pear tart which went down very well, or things like cheesecakes you can make in advance).
