Bread recipes

Anyone got a really nice bread recipe please? I've been making our own bread for a while now, but I had a sandwich earlier and I suddenly realised that its not the most flavoursome bread I've ever had. It's much better when fresh out the oven or toasted though and smothered in salty butter

The recipe I use is:

500g premium very strong white bread flour
7g dried yeast
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp grape seed oil instead of butter
320ml warm water

Is it the lack of butter? Any recipes for a wholemeal loaf that doesn't resemble a house brick when cooked would be greatly appreciated too Grin

I always give this link for bread recipes. The wholemeal is good, so is the milk loaf. And you can add oats/butternut squash/seeds/bran/wheatgerm etc etc to the plain loaf if you like.

I always put in 50gms Spelt. It certainly gives a nice nutty flavour. You could also add a tablespoon of honey.

I like to put in sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and linseeds. Also I replace some of the white flour with spelt or strong brown wholemeal for a nice nutty flavour.

There are lots of lovely recipes books on the The Book People website. You can even experiment with sourdough which is delish. It's not difficult - just takes a bit more time.
