I have just discovered that it you keep fresh ginger in the freezer not only does the skin scrape off really easily it grates really well with a microplane grater- in fact so well tonights stir fry may be a bit gingery!
Perhaps everyone knew this already but i am delighted to find it out-my dh had bben to Tescos at xmas and came home with a massive piece of ginger, so pleased with himself as we normally only get individual small packs, and i am running out of things to make with it all so its in the freezer
