I had a magimix which are great but I broke it last week. Sad I bought a cheap one at Argos which I don't rate at all though it had good reviews. It doesn't juice properly IMO. I'm going to probably buy a Phillips next which Jason Vale (author of lots of juicing books) recommends. You could look on his website.

We just got a Phillips Jason Vale one, its fab, it was about £99 iirc.
The more expensive you go, the more powerful and also quieter they are. If you go too cheap the juicing can take ages because you have to chop everything into small pieces. Ours is far from the poshest but can take whole carrots, apples etc.

Mine takes whole veg/fruit but it tastes too bitty to me. Definitely go more expensive if you can. The magimix is around £179 but is quite compact if you don't have much storage space.

I have a Champion juicer that I bought about 10 years ago and which is not only excellent, but is still going strong. However, I just quickly googled it to see how much they cost these days and nearly fainted! They ARE awesome though. Fab juice, it doesn't heat the juice because it masticates it, so no loss of nutrients. But phooey they got costly!

Am bumping this thread as I am interested in buying a juicer.

For serious juicing- lots of veggies, rather than just apples and oranges.
