I was at the farm shop and it was 1.99 I couldn't resist. Clueless.

Take the skin/fat off, boil it up, remove from the water when cooked (don't throw the water, that's all your taste) and add 300g (I'm not really sure about the weight, but hey came in 500g bags and I use more than half) red lentils, 2 tsp bouillon, 3 carrots, 3 med potatoes (I keep skin on) 2 bigish onions and loads of fresh ground pepper. It''s so easy, just carrots onions potatoes and lentils chucked in a pan with a shank :)

When all veg soft and cooked, blend for the most delicious lentil soup.
You could add tomato puree or a tin of tomatoes if you wish, too.

You can add the meat back to the pot before blending (I do) or you can have it on sandwiches and make your £1.99 go even further :)

Slow cook it in cola and onions overnight. Yes, it sounds awful but after trying it, I am now a convert Grin Makes sandwiches for the whole week.
