What could be doing this?

I thought maybe the oven was too hot but did a cake today at 150 and it still happened. Could it be because I line the tin with butter and flour?

Are you sure it wasn't bread Confused

No. It was definately a cake. They buttered the tin then tapped flour all round the inside.
