Can you cook bread in a cake tin?

Made my first handmade loaf last week (after years of using breadmaker) and whilst it was lovely, it spread out on the baking tray so wasn't any good for making sandwiches. I don't have any large loaf tins and wondered if I could use a cake tin instead? Hopefully this will keep the dough from spreading out again. Has anyone tried this?

Don't see why it wouldn't work - the dough doesn't know or care what shape the tin is. I suppose it would be an idea to try to match the volume of a loaf tin.

Thank you. Will hopefully try soon.

yes, you can make it in pretty much anything - flower pots, baked bean cans....
