Welsh recipes

For complicated reasons I am due to host a Welsh-themed dinner party. I am not Welsh, however I understand (largely from having watched the Cardiff epidose of Come Dine With Me) that the following foodstuffs are associated with Wales: Leeks, Lamb, Rarebit (sort of cheese on toast, right?), onions, and (obviously) Welsh cheeses such as Caerphilly.
Does anyone have any good ideas? In particular, I'm wondering what to make for dessert.
All suggestions welcome!

Cockles and laverbread - fried with bacon
Cawl
Welshcakes
Pwdin reis

Barabrith

Cawl is a traditional soup.
Bara brith is a fruit cake that is very traditional.
Welsh cakes.
All if those you could google recipes for!
Not sure of any desserts as such. Will think!

Lovely roast lamb always goes down a treat, "the mountain sheep are sweeter/ but the valley sheep are fatter/ we therefore deemed it meeter/ to carry off the latter."

Welshcakes, which you can always jazz up with cream and jam.

Starter - Laverbread and Cockle cakes

Main course - Roast lamb, served with leeks as one of the vegetables

Desert - Warm welshcakes served with Welsh vanilla icecream

Then, with coffee you could serve small slices of Barabrith

Thanks everyone! Great ideas - I'm very tempted by the Laverbread and Cockle cakes - might do a trial run and see how it goes. Roast lamb will have to be the main - delicious. And daffodils on the table of course!

I'm quite tempted tto give he menus a go myself now

perhaps i ought to give my welsh relations this list, as apart from welshcakes i've never been served any of this. their specialisties seem to be fry-ups, roast chicken and things our of packets/tins! it sounds lovely.
