The title says it all really, I have a joint of beef in the freezer and want to use it for Sunday lunch tomorrow. What would be the best way to defrost it in this freezing weather and how long will it take?

Take it out, put it in the fridge and leave til tomorrow.

then let it finish defrosting at the start of cooking time

I'd leave it out on the kitchen counter (my kitchen has no heating and I won't be using my cooker today). I know a chicken takes 24 hours to defrost in a fridge.
