Grin

I'm in England too but having been brought up in NI don't know veda bread, unless in my parts we called it something else, don't know.

Confused
milktraylady · 17/01/2013 22:52

Asda potato bread is very good Grin

milktraylady · 17/01/2013 22:54

Veda is in the nort' too. It's v dark brown nearly black, closest you get in English bread is a malt load with bits in it.
Not a patch on Veda!

How about Veda with golden cow & a poached egg anyone? Wink

bureni · 17/01/2013 22:59

Veda bread is from N.I not ROI where it is rarely seen.

Monty27 · 17/01/2013 23:45

My mum musn't have liked it and deprived us of it Grin

As she did with chicken Shock

milktraylady · 19/01/2013 11:51

NotAnotherPackedLunch · 19/01/2013 19:19

Iggity Veda bread in asda? Even in London?
You've made me very happy. Can't wait to introduce the DC to Veda. Smile

KellyMarieTunstall · 19/01/2013 19:20

Do Asda still do Veda though? I know they did last year for a short time but I havent seen it since. but then again I dont actually go to Asda very much

Maybe it is area specific though?

DeDevilTail · 19/01/2013 19:23

Mmmm...toasted Veda with butter and a wee sprinkling of sugar on. Divine!

Wolfiefan · 19/01/2013 19:25

There must be a way to bake it at home. Anyone?

Selks · 19/01/2013 19:25

If you're in the north some Morrisons sell it I think.

bureni · 19/01/2013 20:32

It is made in Lothian in Scotland so perhaps you can get it closer to the border.

Whojamaflip · 19/01/2013 21:19

marking place - Veda and cheese sarnies please

20 years I have been living in England and my craving for Veda is still as strong Blush not to mention brown lemonade..........

3monkeys · 19/01/2013 21:24

Have never found it here. My gran used to post me it when I was a student :)

werewolvesdidit · 20/01/2013 15:30

I am related to the people who run that company bureni. Weird.

Never thought there would be an available recipe for veda. Mind you, any recipe that uses 16kg of flour is possibly a little too much, even for greedies like me :)

Whojamaflip - I always call normal lemonade 'white lemonade' and my Dh laughed at me asking what other colour would it be. He was really surprised to hear of such a thing as brown lemonade (which is definitley nicer).
