Mushroom risotto for me and dd; mushroom linguine for dh and ds.

HeyMicky · 14/01/2013 18:19

Sorry, putting DD to bed.

Spicy soup: I use chicken or fish stock, add some tamarind paste, Tom yum paste, lime juice, fish sauce, garlic (squeezy tube!) and chillies. Little bit of palm sugar if needed. All by eye, and to taste. Lemongrass if I have it. You could throw in some coriander if you wanted, although it is Satan's garnish.

(We have a Thai supermarket near us, but most supermarkets stock all of the above, and the pastes last for months.)

Boil it up, throw in prawns and/or chicken, then add bean sprouts, mushrooms, sliced peppers, mange tout, green beans, broccoli, baby sweetcorn, ribbons of carrot - whatever is in the veg bin. Add rice noodles (or supernoodles) at the end.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 14/01/2013 18:22
