Help! Urgent! What would you serve with this?

I am doing Nigel Slater's mulled lamb www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/lamb_with_port_and_85617 but I can't remember what I served it with when I did it before.

What veg/manner of spud would you do?

I'd serve it with rice and any steamed veg. It looks delicious. :)

I'm guessing it'll be very rich and quite sweet with the port and prunes etc, so maybe something quite plain like cous cous or mashed potatoes and broccoli.

Mash and cabbage.

I made it a couple of weeks ago and we didn't like it at all, it's too sweet and fruity. And we love sweet savoury dishes.

It is indeed delicious.

DH did mash, which was fine with it, but tbh, I think I'll try rice next time. We used peas as it was only thing we could all agree on, and the cabbage was a bit old!

Thank you for all your suggestions. I have written them into the book along with the recipe.
