This one comes from James martin's Great British Dinners cook book. Not tried it though.

Heat large frying pan and add 75g butter and 1 tbsp olive oil. In is fry 2 small sliced onions and 1 crushed clove of garlic for 5 minutes, until softened.

Add 175g of sliced brown mushrooms, 225g best minced beef (can also be sliced beef but mince is easier), and 1 tbsp of paprika. Fry on high heat to seal the beef. After 5 minutes add 1 tbsp of French mustard and pour in 75ml double cream. Bring to a gentle simmer before seasoning with salt and pepper.

At this point, remove from heat and add 2 tbsp of chopped flat leaf parlsey.

TO SERVE:
Cook some fresh noodles, toss in butter. Pile noodles on a plate, spoon on stroganoff and serve with a dollop of soured cream on top.

Beef Strog is one of our staple suppers. I stick to the traditional recipe which requires fillet steak cut into strips. I just fry up a small, finely chopped onion and a load of sliced smallish mushrooms over a gentle heat. Remove them from the pan, turn up the heat and fry the fillet steak strips until sealed. Putthe mushrooms and onions back in with the steak, add a cup of beef stock, a generous dollop of tomasto paste, paprika and salt and pepper. Cook until the sauce is reduced by around half then add around 200ml of sour cream. Serve over plain white rice or noodles.
