How much does your toddler eat?

I scrape so much off the floor, I'm beginning to think she's not eating at all!

DD is 16m, quite petite, but not skinny, loves her bf and although always eager to eat, not a huge amount seems to go in. I don't know if I'm expecting too much.

Having said that, she ate a mountain of food at tea time. Confused

My DS is about to turn 3, so maybe not the best comparison, but his eating is either feast or famine! He'll seem to survive on dust and crumbs for a couple of days, then he'll eat as much as me for a day or 2.

Today he had:

  • bowl of porridge with fruit for breakfast
  • couple of cookies at a toddler group mid-morning
  • peas for lunch (which he picked out of the pasta I made!)
  • banana mid-afternoon
  • lamb, potato and broccoli for dinner (though more broccoli than lamb/potato), then rice pudding
  • milk before bed

Also, I was told by someone (can't remember who) that at this age, children tend to spread their calorie intake over a week, rather than a day like adults do. So rather than having a big lunch then small dinner, they might have a big Monday/Tuesday then small Wednesday/Thursday. HTH!

Thanks, good point on them spreading out intake, certainly seems the case with DD.
