Is this steak off?

I got some steak yesterday to have today. Yesterday it was red and nice and fresh looking, but today it is nearly all brown and not so fresh looking. But it doesn't really smell off. It was expensive. Shall I take it back?

Oh a nd don't actually listen to me, I rarely eat meat!

if it smells fine it is fine. if you cut a bit of it i'd be it'll be all nice and red looking.

Steak is supposed to look a bit brown and purpley - you ask any chef and they will tell you that you shouldn't buy nice red bloody looking meat it is too fresh (if there ever was such a thing!!) and it won't taste of anything - I'd eat it!!

When meat is left open (ie not "sealed in a protective atmosphere") it often looks brown. The smell is a better indicator.

I'm in that kind of mood today. I'm 'on' you see. I already took back our dvd player and got a refund. Not bad for my shit French!

I already make a dick out of myself today. Opened the dvd player and there was no remote control with it, I checked on the box and it said it included a remote, but I shook the box and there was none there. So I phoned the supermarket and said (in French obviously) that there was no remote and it's not very good cause I live quite far from this hypermarket. The guy said, are you sure it's not there? And I said, course I'm bloody sure! He said, is it not in the polystyrene, I said no of course it bloody isn't as I pick up some polystyrene and discover it taped to the underneath!!!!

LOL at DVD, can just imagine it,in halting French, look it is easy, you give me a refund or I send Custardo around.
