Frozen leeks

Picked up a bag today as they were on offer and I remembered a few people on here had said they used them, but what for? Most recipes require sweating leeks off, can you do that with frozen ones?

Lucky you I couldn't find them in Morrisons yesterday.

I use them for soup and casseroles. Sometimes I just tip them in, especially in the slow cooker, and sometimes I do them in the pan for a bit first
