Saucepan recommendations

Hi all,

I figured this might be the best place to ask for a recommendation for a good set of saucepans. Most of mine have been gathered over the years and are a mix of rubbish cheap ones and some la creuset inherited from my brother when he emigrated. We are soon to become a family of five and with DS already eating us out of house and home (he's only 18mths!) I see a lot of big family meals in my future!

So I want to get rid of the rubbish pots and pans and replace with some decent sturdy big pots that will last but don't cost the earth. Anyone out there got any preferences/recommendations??

Thanks.

Ramond Blanc Analon pans with copper bottoms. We got a set last year (it is possible to find very good deals on these) and they are amazing, reassuringly heavy, they heat up fast and retain heat well, so much so that we are able to turn the gas burners down compared with what we had previously.

We got a set of John Lewis saucepans as a wedding present. 14 years later they're still going strong.
