have you got a griddle

orangina · 17/04/2006 19:55

griddle or frill them from rom temperature. I like to have them slightly pink in the middle still. I then make a juice/sauce from lime juice, olive oil, thai sweet chilli sauce, fish sauce, fresh coriander and a dash of soya sauce. Can be marinated in lime juice before cooking if you are organised enough (I never am Grin).... serve with a salad and rice, or some steamed greens dressed with olive oil and lemon, or soya sauce and sesame oil. We are having the same this evening (dh is in the kitchen as I type!)

I normally just squeeze some lemon and a pinch of black pepper n them, and then do them for 1.5 minutes on a George grill. Don't over cook them as they dry out. Fresh tuna, lightly cooked really is so lovely and tasty it needs nothing else on it IMO!

I normally make a Salad Nicoise with beans, eggs, potatoes, olives, onions etc and then add a nice piece of freshly seared tuna on top rather than the canned stuff - perfect!
