Bland turkey pie filling! Help!

Just making a quick, store cupboard, leftover turkey pie for the kids. Have onion, carrots, cauliflower etc in a chicken soup base (with wine!) but it's bland, bland, bland. What can I chuck in before I put the pastry on?

Have you seasoned it properly? Otherwise a little mustard will often lift the sauce Xmas Smile

Mace

Another vote for mustard if you have any

Mustard, thyme?

Pepper, mustard, paprika? Stock cube?

Is it runny? Add a spoon of mustard powder and a spoon of cornflour to an eggcup of red or white wine vinegar and stir it in?

Some more veg? Broccoli, spinach, peas, Sweetcorn are a little more flavor some.

Worcester sauce adds flavor to anything if you don't have much in your cupboards?

We've just made a turkey pie with turkey, leeks, cream and some grainy French mustard and the filling at least tastes lovely! Would have used more veggies but DS would kick up a fuss so they will be side orders instead ;-).

Have you got any bacon or a bit of ham?

Wow fast responses, thank you. Did a big sprinkle of black pepper and it was delish. Would never have thought of mustard though, so will keep that for next time. Thanks all.
