I made a butternut squash soup tonight but put rather too much chilli in. Could I add something else to reduce the heat? Creme fraiche? Natural yoghurt? Single cream? Milk? What would work and still be palatable?

Put some sugar in it. Start with a little bit (half teaspoon?), and add a bit more if you need to.

Sugar like my cat says, yoghurt, milk, coconut milk or the others you mentioned would be fine just pick only one plus sugar to try.

Creme fraiche or yoghurt should help a little.

The sugar worked a treat! And, the coconut milk was delicious. Thank you, one and all. Grin
