How do I roast ham instead of boiling it.

And can you suggest ideas for a glaze.

I'd suggest giving it a good soak before roasting inside a parcel of foil or one of those roasting bags. Gas 3 20 mins per lb and allow to cool down quite a lot inside the parcel before stripping off any skin and scoring the fat. Add the glaze next then return to the oven for a final 15 minute blast uncovered

A nice simple glaze is brown sugar mixed with a few dollops of wholegrain mustard. Keep stirring until the brown sugar liquidises... then apply liberally.
