How long will lamb keep in the fridge?

I bought a huge shoulder of lamb from the butcher's today (Fri). Will it keep in the fridge long enough to cook it for Christmas dinner, or should I freeze it?

We bought one yesterday (Thurs) from local butcher who assured Dh that it would be fine in fridge for Christmas day. With you on this one - don't totally trust dh...

Well, I've just googled and the US food safety people say 3-5 days. Mine's going in the freezer - if I can fit it in, that is!
