Soft strips of steamed veg (carrot etc.) that he can hold. (Be prepared for him to just squeeze too hard and it all fall on the floor)

Little strips (or cubes) of banana are good.

Little strips of cheese...

Little strips of most things.

There's a good book we were given called \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0091889510/qid=1144942232/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/026-8590539-3170025\Finger Foods for Babies and Toddlers by Jennie Maizels} which is really good.

DD has no teeth and does a pretty gpood job with vegetables, rice cakes, toast, fruit, cheese.

And paper, but I'm not encouraging that one.

i worry about him choking on them, he does not seem to keen on his food when i introduce it a little coarser, he seems to gag.

you might find he's better with lums of food as he can keep them in his mouth and chedw it to a nice consistency.

either that or he'll spit it out!

babies with no teeth seem to do remarkably well with finger foods... my ds always got on ok!

modsaluk · 17/04/2006 21:46

Thank you will try them out over the next few days.

Thanks

Full fat cottage cheese is good too. Depending how old there are also some organix moon biscuits which are good.

Sandwiches, bread with cream cheese etc

My dd gagged on spoon fed lumps but fares much better with food she has control over. makes sense I guess as she can feel what it is like before it goes in her mouth

my nine month old has no teeth yet - can manage toast, grated fruit, crated cheese or cheese slice and mini sndwiches (thin bread or toasted worked for him) Smile

Just tried DD with organix moon biscuits (10.5m no teeth) and they were a bit much for her - so sticking to Heinz Biscotti for now!

funnybones · 30/04/2006 22:10

was going to try biscotti do you reccomend?

funnybones · 30/04/2006 22:14

just thought of a good one for you modsaluk - thick bread drizzled with olive oil cut into strips then bake - homemade breadsticks but watch the end as my lo stuffs it all in Smile

Yes, prefer biscotti to other similar biscuits. Nice and slim and melt down quite quickly in the mouth.

my 9 month old has toast, grape quarters, banana chunks, small chunks of mild cheese, cucumber and apple chunks to suck. He has no teeth and does very well.
