royal icing....

I've just finished royal icing my dads Christmas cake.... first time ever & it looks truly awful but tastes good .......

Can I freeze the remaining icing? and, if so, how long will it store for frozen?

I think the icing will need using up or chucking out, I don't think it will keep at all.

thanks, wasn't sure so I put it in an airtight container in the fridge

Will chuck it next time I get up

I expect it'll just set hard after a bit.
