ideas for pudding for Christmas eve?

We'll be eating boiled ham, mash, carrots/peas, parsley sauce, so something reasonably light.

I'm doing oranges in mulled wine syrup sunday pm, and little fruit jellies with cream on boxing day.

DH can't eat cows dairy (butter is ok as we have goat butter, cream on top he can just skip, but it can't involve cream as part of the recipe) nor chocolate.

MiL is veggie (jellies will be veggie) otherwise I'd do a lemon mousse

We don't have a freezer, so nothing ice-creamish

Brilliant light, easy to make, but delicious ideas welcome Grin Help!

I'm trying to think of a nice dessert for christmas eve too. When discussing with my DH, we decided to make a fruit salad with a few pecans or similar. Our thinking was that such a nice and light pudding would be good for xmas eve as christmas day will be food overload....

Can your dh manage goats and Sheeps cheese? Cos how about a cheeseboard with figs and biscuits and ermm cheeses. Then all you have to do is plonk it on the table.

Pears poached in red wine.
Baked bananas.
Fruit tart
Apple pancakes.

Now I'd thought about pears in red wine but wondered if it would be a bit odd having had oranges the previous day. Maybe that with little almondy biscuits might be nice. Apple pancakes is a nice idea too. Cheeseboard would be good but we almost never have pudding so I want to make the most of it!!

I don't serve the pears with any wine sauce, I cook them whole with stem on, and serve on white plates, you could garnish with kiwi fruit or physallis, and yes an almond biscuit would be good!
