How many people actually bother with this?

Do you think it makes a genuine difference to the final taste of the dish?

(In the case of tonight's supper, a vegetarian lasagne.)

Yes, it's a pain but it does make a difference. Lolalotta it just means warming the milk with half an onion and a bay leaf in.

I warm the milk with a large clove of garlic and thinks it gives a garlic depth
