cooking and freezing fish

I cooked some cod this morning and it's been in the fridge all day. just now realised that I've done something else for the children's tea instead of making the fish cakes as planned. Can I freeze it still now even though it's been in the fridge all day do you think?

TIA

popsycalindisguise · 05/04/2006 20:13

mckenzie · 05/04/2006 20:16

yeah, not sure which is better or worse popsycalindisguise. If it was just for me and DH I wouldn't worry but it's for 4 year old DS and 13 month old DD.

you're okay so far. Only DD had the fish, ate it with relish so it obviously didn't taste off. So I haven't got my voodoo doll out yet Grin

I would have done it too - both options :)

Ibfact I often make fishcakes and then freeze them to use later as a quick meal.

I just had some notion Hulababy that fish wasn't quite so good at being kept overnight etc. It smelt fine which was the first clue I guess and DD had it at about 5pm and no reaction sof ar so i guess I was worrying for nothing.
Out of interest, what is your recipe for fishcakes please?

Nothing special here. I tend to use The Dinner lady or similar for recipes, although do very quick ones with mash potato, peas and sweetcorn, parsley and fish. I then coat them and wrap them in cling film until I use them.
