My mum used to do it with chips for us - proper chips, made in the chip pan (well, it was the seventies!). Deeeelicious (but very unhealthy).

Toothyboy · 04/04/2006 22:12

Sausages

SleepyJess · 04/04/2006 22:13

Bacon. But I like it as the main dish best.. with some mixed veg.

tassis · 04/04/2006 22:13

oh yum, chips in a chip pan! my mum used to make them for us too. she possibly still makes them. must request them when I'm next home.

really want some NOW!!!

MrsMaple · 04/04/2006 22:54

My mum used to do it with baked pots and ham. I loved it. I make mine eat it with that too.

flutterbee · 04/04/2006 22:55

Ooooh my stepmum makes it with gamon steaks and veg and it goes with them really well.

milge · 04/04/2006 22:56

Roast Gammon. I always put garam masala in my cauliflower cheese to give it a bit of a kick. Also bacon/cold chicken.

MrsSpoon · 04/04/2006 22:58

Sometimes make this as an extra veg when making roast chicken.

milward · 04/04/2006 23:14

Green beans and tomato slices - yum!

JanH · 05/04/2006 09:38

Bacon and fried tomatoes Smile

Tommy · 05/04/2006 09:45

sausages, jacket spud and ratatouille (on the menu chez Tommy for today)

oops · 05/04/2006 09:45

green stuff!

oops · 05/04/2006 09:45

need somethign to counteract teh stodge!

lazycow · 05/04/2006 09:51

I'm not sure I see cauliflower cheese as stodge it is a vegetable and quite a light one. We have it with potatoes and maybe green beans for a veggie meal or with chicken and beans if not.

ds likes his blended and put on a jacket potato as topping - the meal is a bit 'white' but he loves it.

zippitippitoes · 05/04/2006 09:53

smoked haddock

otherwise second bacon/ham/gammon

Bozza · 05/04/2006 09:55

I just do mine with garlic bread as a meal in itself.

CountessDracula · 05/04/2006 10:00

bacon and tomatoes

I cook the bacon, slice tomatoes in half and stuff them all on the cauliflower cheese in the oven for 20 mins

is yum

cataloguequeen · 05/04/2006 10:03
