Christmas cake timing

Right so I am going to make a Christmas cake this year. I am using a fruitcake cookie recipe which used to be a fruitcake recipe but my mother converted it to cookies. She has no idea how long to cook it as a cake b one as she did not keep original recipe. Cookies take 60 minutes. I'm planning to use a 25 inch tin so thinking 3 hours. Does this sound about right or too long?

Having consulted Delia that doesn't sound long enough.

25 inch tin ??
Are you making a cookie or a cake?

Thats a good point, I'd read that as a 25cm tin. How big is your oven to fit that in?

Sorry! 25 cm!!

You would definitely need longer than 3 hours. I think the Delia timings can be underestimates (perhaps my oven thermostat isn't too good).
