Crisis..please help!

my ds is 23months, and since i returned to work when he was 9 months, he's been cared for by my MIL.

She went to India last week for 6 weeks, so have invited my mother to stay and mind ds. We are currently doing a week of handover, however its been disastourous (spelling??) at feed times. He just won't take any food from her. She's even tried finger foods and milk, but he just screams. I go back to work next week and I'm frantic. What if he doesn't eat from her? I've even tried going out, leaving them alone, and he plays with her very happily, but won't allow her to feed him.

Please help..All suggestions are most welcome.

has she tried putting the food in front of him and leaving the room?

Thats what we shall try next..but his attempts with a spoon isn't very good..he gets it all over..we are also in the transition of him eating indian food (curries and chapatis), which he loves but will not touch with my mother present..

i'm now thinking of the worse case scenario which is to see if my employers will allow me to work from home on every afternoon..i don't want to do this though, cuz its like i've given into what ds wants, but then i can't bear him not eating and just crying all the time, cuz he can't see me. He's never been like this with my MIL. I'm putting it down to the terrible 2;s approaching.

I would persevere - dont give in - he will eat!
