like the krispie cakes.... think it's shredded wheat but should you add golden syrup or butter etc to the chocolate? How do you make them basket shaped?

I use a nigella recipe which is basically lots of cadbury's choc, a wee bit of dark choc, maybe a little butter but not a lot.

melt all, stir in crushed shredded wheat, shape into nests and add the eggs

have to watch ds adding eggs - one for mouth, one for nest!!

Can get you quantities if you like.

I bought a huge slab of dairy milk for this purpose yesterday, but it's nearly all eaten!

200g milk choc
25g dark choc
25g unsalted butter
100g shredded wheat
about 25 mini eggs

melt choc and butter, add crushed shredded wheat
make wee nest shapes with hands and put them on a baking sheet lined with oiled foil or parchement - about 7cm in diameter.

don't worry if don't stick together, will when choc cools.
then remove from sheet and put on plate and fill centre with eggs (about 5 per nest).

recipe doesn't make v many nests, though I make mine smaller than she suggest. i double quantities (well would have if I have enough chocolate to!)

Enjoy!

Don't use cooking chocolate - it's just flavoured veg fat and tastes vile. If I want to make something grown up I use proper dark organic choc, but for kids to dribble all over the kitchen I get supermarket own brand cheap stuff.

not cooking chocolate - it takes yucky
