I have a silverside...

I was given a silverside joint by my dad...and I know that you can do a pot roast with it (is that the best way to use it??), but I can't seem to find a recipe in any of my cookbooks!!

Anyone got a good recipe or a suggestion of what I can do with it?

I just put the joint in the slow cooker with loads of chopped veg, onions, potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots & really finely chopped celery. Cover with water and cook over night or all day, depends what our plans are. Once cooked I usually take it out shred half (bit like pulled pork) and tip the shredded part back with the veg add some gravy granules and serve stew with Yorkshire puds. We tend to use the other half for sarnies

Thanks Nicky, I will try that. Although, may use oven rather than slow cooker - should be the same though?!
