How long will frozen (uncooked) meat keep for?

Noticed in Sainsburys today they have beef and gammon on offer, half price.

So I got a large top rump for just over 10 pounds which will do 3/4 meals. I was going to cut it in half, well ask DS to do it Grin, freeze half and have a roast tomorrow and stovies on Sunday.

Then thought I may as well go back and maybe get a couple more joints of beef and a couple of gammon and freeze them.

But I'm not sure how long they will keep in the freezer, any ideas please as I wont be planning to eat them all in the next month or so.

Oh and can I just keep it the packaging or should I open them and wrap in tinfoil?

I'm sure there are rules about this but in my house things stay in the freezer until they're eaten. Occasionally that's over a year Blush
