Right, I have red lentils and spinach which needs using... any ideas?

Lentil and spinach soup. Divine. Do you have any ground cumin about your person, which is necessary, though?

DH cooked this for me on our second date. I was vegan then. It was lurve

Dahl with spinach

Wash the lentils, cover with water, add a teaspoon of turmeric then boil till they turn yellow. (do not add salt till they are cooked)
Seperately, chop up an onion and fry up with oil & a tablespoon of curry paste.
Add onion mixture and a dash of milk & spinach.
Cook till spinach softens.

I had it this evening (sans spinach) with rice & chicken curry. yum!!

MerylStrop I LOVE Steve's spiced lentils, where did you find that from? I have a tattered old photocopy of a photocopy I am terrified of losing! Tethers end it's o tasty and definitely worth the faff, plus freezes really well.

DH made it from a recipe cut out from a magazine. He cooked it for dinner on our first proper date.

We have been together nearly 13 years, so it is a good job we stuck it in a book one wet Sunday afternoon. We still make a vat of it once a month at least.

I googled it and it pinged up quite easily.

Thanks, am such a Luddite I never thought of googling it. Think am def going to make some next week!
