Hello all,

Does anyone know if I can use a substitute for sake (Japanese alcoholic drink) in this recipe?

Chicken Teriyaki

If so, any ideas? Anyone actually made this or something similar?

Sherry should be a suitable substitute

Dry sherry if you have it.

Dry sherry would be fine.

Thanks all - I don't have sherry but not making it tonight. May 'borrow' some sherry from my mum before forking out myself and then not liking the recipe. She always has sherry.

Also noticed there are no vegetables in it but assume a side of greens would work.

Sherry works fine, or use Mirin, which is quite cheap.

MamaMary · 01/11/2012 18:03

Ouryve, there is mirin in it as well.

And pak choi, hearted cabbage or broccoli work well on the side.
