Venison ideas please!

I've just bought some diced venison from the butchers. My plan is to casserole it in red wine, with onions, celery etc.
Anyone have any better ideas as I've never cooked it before? Husband keeps suggesting venison curry, but he would curry everything given half a chance!

I'd go for casserole with diced venison. As you suggest with a spoonful of redcurrant jelly. And a healthy slush of port. Delia has a lovely recipe with port and pickled walnuts in her Christmas book.

Your casserole idea sounds lovely. However, I would recommend marinading it in the wine first for a few hours before you put it in the oven.

Venison casserole is georgeous. DH likes it with mash (either potato, or potato & celeriac).

Most recipes that work for beef will also work for venison.
