Best Before Date

I bought some pastry mix and only used part of it before forgetting it was there. I've just rediscovered it and the BB is Feb 2012. Would it still be ok to use do you think?

I know pastry is simple to make so not sure why I got it really but don't want to chuck it if it is still usable

If its sealed and smells ok on opening cant see why not - IMO dates are an indication and for stock rotation. Common sence always.

Should be fine for a couple years in a cool dark place - if the fat smells rancid then bin.
