no sour cream - what oculd i use instead?

i have natural yogurt and dbl cream and a bit of sour cream but need 500ml.
its for a chocolate cake and the icing too.

would the yogurt work?

Moondog is right, that's how you make sour cream.

Very high fat yogurt can be ok for this sort of thing, but make your own sour is better.
