It's good for cooking dried legumes. I guess that's vegetarian!

Everything turns to mush if you cook for too long. It's not something you turn on and leave on all day while you go out to work (ie 10-12 hour). Have a look at
homecooking.about.com/library/weekly/blcrocktips.htm
I found most beans cook in 45min or under, so you need to take them out between 6-8 hour on high, unless you want mush. But mush is good for things like dal and refried beans. Grin

The Oct 2011 issue of slimming worlds mag has a veg tagine recipe that works well in the slow cooker. Had no complaints so far Smile
