Help! Casserole

So I'm making chicken casserole and it says I need to add pulses, idk what these are is it like kidney beans or I've got black eyes beans are those pulses?

Or I have quinoa is that a pulse?

Pulses are any kind of peas and beans, so kidney beans and black eyed peas both count.

Okay thank you, another question if you don't mind I've got the casserole with the vegetables all sort of par boiled in there and am going to heat it up again and add the kidney beans gravy granules and chopped tomatoes to let it thicken. How long would this take should I heat it for say 30 minutes?

should be unless it's a really big casserole. get a packet of cornflour. if it doesnt thicken you add this to some of the liquid to thicken it. mash potatoe works too :)
