Before chucking it out? I have one in a tub in the fridge from Wednesday, with the drumsticks still on, was going to use it to make a chicken barley soup. We will projectile vom record breaking lengths won't we?

Unless it smells bad it's probably fine. But I laugh in the face of use by dates and freezer rules and have a constitution of iron.

I'd have thought that was fine as long as it's been safely in the fridge the whole time. Well, I'd happily use it for stock anyway

But if you feel at all doubtful, don't do it, I'd say.

I now usually gather up all such bits of chicken and chuck them in a bag in the freezer, then take a batch out every now and then and boil it up from frozen when I need stock. Gets round the 'will I, won't I poison everyone' scenario!

Boil. If the smell offends then chuck. It'll be fine, I think.
