Loaf cake recipes?

I am looking for loaf cake recipies that are nice and moist and freeze well, especially a chocolate or a coffee one? Any links to your favourites would be much appreciated! Thank you!

The bbc good food chocolate and banana cake is beautiful and moist - and lasts well. Haven't tried freezing it though but can't see why not. Sorry on iPhone so can't work out how to link, but google it! It's a hit with big and little people .

Thanks PPT, will have a look now, have some over-ripe bananas in the bowl so could be just the thing!

I've got the world's easiest lemon drizzle cake here www.toddler-recipes.co.uk/lemon-drizzle-cake.html. I haven't tried freezing it but it shouldn't be a problem.

Am sat with a v old baking book here and a whole section on "tea breads and slicing loaves" let me know if you want any of these and I will put them up. It says all of them freeze

I tend to do most of my cakes in a loaf tin - prefer it to round ones for some reason. I should think that pretty much any cake recipe is fine in a loaf

Oh, Weirdandwinderful how kind! I would love the recipe for the country loaf and the currant loaf if it's not too much trouble? Sounds like a FAB book BTW, do you mind me asking what the title is? Thank you!

Of course, I'm out right now but will type them up this afternoon and get the title for you

Country tea bread
150g sultanas
50g currants
25g chopped red glacé cherries
5 tbsp runny honey
150ml (not too strong) cold tea
1 beaten med egg
225g sifted self raising flour
25g melted butter
25g Demerara sugar
25g chopped walnuts

(Start night before)
Place fruit in mixing bowl, pour in tea and 4tbsp honey and leave overnight
Next day fold in flour, butter and egg
Grease and line a 450g/1lb loaf tin
Preheat oven to gas 4/350f/180c
Spoon mix into tin and bake for 50 mins
Remove from oven, brush top with remaining honey and sprinkle on sugar and walnuts. Return to oven for further 15 mins. Leave to firm up in tin for 5 mins before turning onto wire rack and cooling

Freeze for up to 3 months or store in tin for 3-4 days

Currant loaf - now it says makes a 1lb loaf but the recipe says 2lb loaf tin?!
175g softened butter
75g caster sugar
3 tbsps runny honey
3 medium eggs, beaten
225g sifted self raising flour
125g washed and dried currants
50g nibbed almonds
3 tbsps milk

Grease and line loaf tin, preheat oven to gas 4/350f/180c
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the honey
Beat the eggs in a little at a time, add some of the measured flour if it curdles
Fold in flour, currants and almonds and add milk to a soft but not wet consistency
Spoon into tin, bake for 1hr or until risen and firm. Leave to cool slightly before placing on wire rack
Store in tin for up to 10 days or freeze for up to 3 months
