Ganache

DD is being baptised on Sunday.
She needs a cake.
I was thinking of doing a deep round madeira cake, coloured pink, but wondered if it would be easier to cover it in ganache rather than sugarpaste which I'm not keen on?
Would you cover it in brown choc ganache with her name piped on the top in normal icing? Can you make a white choc ganache or is there too much fat/not enough choc in it?
Thank you

White chocolate is fine. I have used this recipe in the past
