Hi, my 18mth dd has started refusing food and I found that if I gave her 2 spoons and I held a 3rd I can get her to eat. Can anyone recommend any knife fork and spoon sets that will teach her to hold them properly as she holds the ones we have between her thumb and index finger but hasn't worked out she needs to hold the whole thing and turn her wrist.

they all do it! my ds eats like that too! lol

you used to be able to buy angled cutlery but i couldn't find it anywhere when i looked (apart from the uber expensive miriam stoppard stuff)

i eventually found some on ebay

i got mine from the same seller! they are good, but ds still holds it in pincer grip. he is getting better at it though as he gets used to doing it

the cheapo ones from Ikea are pretty good - also have some ones with purple/blue handles with lime green grippy bits but think they were a present as don't remember buying them!

I think I got my angled cutlery from Boots - fork and spoon sets. However my 22 month old DD insists on having a metal knife and fork like her big bro - although child sized.

no helpful advice, my dd won't eat of a spoon at all anymore at 14 months, everything is with the hands, much to my mothers dismay while at a meal out the other nightWink

she likes the idea of a spoon but can't work even the angled ones, mostly as we can't give her a bowl as she just chucks it straight on the floor (shed broken 4 before we stopped trying)
