I bought some figs today from my local market and though they are luscious eaten as they are, I'd like to use some of them in a dessert. I may try baking them but would love to hear any other suggestions. Thanks!

Cut them in quarters nearly all the way through, put a square or two of seriously dark chocolate in the centre and either melt in the microwave or in a warm oven...yum.

cut them the same way as Mother says, but put some soft goats cheese in the cuts and grill until cheese is soft and melty

or non-veggie version, do as above then wrap in parma ham before oven baking in hot oven for 10 mins

serve with salad

Gordon Ramsay slow roasted some this week, I can't remember exactly what he did but it looked lovely and he served them with ricotta.

Goats cheese and parma ham.
I'm not a fan of sweet and savoury mixed, but this I love.

Mix marscapone and marsala. Bake the figs with some honey. Serve with the marscapone stuff on the side.
