If you "don't like fish" what do you actually mean?

DH 'hates fish'. Except fish & chips, or tomato-baked pollack, or Thai steamed trout, or soy-glazed salmon, or sweet chilli cod, or smoked haddock, or French plaice, or stir-fried sea bass, or...

What he actually means is that he's not keen on fish with bones in, seafood (except little prawns) or smoked fish.

I really like fish but prefer fillets to having to deal with heads, tails, fins and zillions of bones.

Does anyone actually not like fish at all, no matter what kind, how it's presented or how it's cooked?

I'm not phobic about fish, but the taste makes me nauseous. Yes, all fish and seafood. I live by the sea and think it's a ruddy shame that I don't like the stuff, so I've tasted lots but can't find one I can stomach.
I've eaten fish by accident, and been slipped fish by people who are convinced that I'd like it "if you'd just taste some" and it all always makes me feel like I'm going to throw up. I don't know why this is and I'd love to get over it but there you have it.

I eat fishfingers and fish from the fish and chip shop but no other fish. The smell puts me off and any vaguely fishy taste. I even struggle with my own fish pie or fish burritos made with cod fillets.

I accept it's silly

I don't like fish. I don't eat any fish at all, ever. Even as a kid I didn't eat fish fingers. I've never had fish from a chip shop.

I have tried fresh and smokeD salmon, fresh and tinned tuna, cod etc and hated them all.

The very thought of shellfish almost makes me retch and I find it difficult to enjoy a meal when someone in the vicinity is eating fish.

My DH and dcs love fish.
